COVID-19 Update: April 27, 2022

The following updates are provided by the Return-to-Campuses steering committee.

Masks at U of G after May 1

On April 13, U of G announced that it would maintain its mask requirement until further notice. This means you are required to wear a mask while indoors in U of G spaces. Masks are not required outdoors. Information on the limited scenarios in which you can remove your mask while indoors is available on our Practices webpage.

Looking ahead, we can expect the University's mask requirements will vary over time. Future changes to U of G's mask requirements will be provided through COVID-19 Update emails and on the COVID-19 website.

Proof of vaccination and daily screening after May 1

As announced in March, U of G's COVID-19 vaccination policy and daily screening requirements will be paused as of May 1. The University may reinstate these requirements at any time and with little notice.

Remember: If you feel sick, stay home and visit U of G's What to do when you're sick or have been exposed page. We strongly encourage everyone to stay current with their vaccination and booster doses. This not only helps protect you from the serious effects of COVID-19 but also ensures you are prepared should vaccination be reinstated as a requirement for campus access, including in-person learning.

U of G's current proof of vaccination system allows you to upload receipts for your first and second COVID-19 vaccine doses. We are exploring options to update our vaccination collection system to accept proof of additional booster doses you have received. We will provide details on how to upload proof of your booster doses as that information becomes available. New students and employees are encouraged to submit proof of vaccination for their first two doses through the existing system.

The University's COVID-19 website is your best source of information on U of G's response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Return to Campuses website provides essential information for those coming to campus. If you are coming to campus, make sure you complete the U of G COVID-19 Screening Form every day before you arrive. If you test positive for or are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, isolate and visit the What to do when you're sick or have been exposed page.
