Call for Proposals: Ontario Agri-Food Innovation Alliance Tier I Research Program 

The Ontario Agri-Food Innovation Alliance Research Program invests in research that aligns with Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) priorities that support strong rural communities, keep our food safe and develop a prosperous, environmentally sustainable agri-food sector in Ontario.

OMAFRA is very interested in leveraging “One Health” principles to support a holistic and multi-disciplinary approach to protecting food safety, animal health and welfare, stewardship and protection objectives.

One Health Student Mentorship at U of G

September - November 2021 | Wednesdays 12:30 - 1:30 PM (EST) | Virtual

The Centre for Public Health and Zoonoses (CPHAZ) is hosting a Student Mentorship event. This is an opportunity for University of Guelph students to interact with different One Health professionals in academia, public health, and research sectors. The event will be virtual using Microsoft Teams and there is limited enrollment so don’t wait too long to register!

The One Health Institute is sponsoring 20 University of Guelph students to attend the upcoming virtual 2021 IEEE International Symposium on Technology and Society (ISTAS21) | October 28-31, 2021. 

The symposium will include a moderated panel discussion on One Health informatics | Saturday, October 30th at 9:15am.

The University of Guelph's One Health Institute is pleased to present a report on the third anniversary of the One Health Agenda, a bold campus-wide initiative to harness and enhance our university's capacity in One Health.

Together we are building a comprehensive One Health research platform and equipping graduates to participate in and lead interdisciplinary One Health teams. These teams work towards solutions for our most complex problems at the intersection of human, animal, plant and environmental health—to Improve Life. ​​​​​​

WHO Assembles One Health Expert Panel

The World Health Organization (WHO) and three other partners have created a High Level One Health Expert Panel of 26 international experts from 23 countries. The Panel will assess emerging health crises arising from the human-animal-ecosystem interface, identify research gaps and provide guidance on the development of a long-term strategic approach to reducing the risk of zoonotic pandemics.

The panel includes Dr. Dominique Charron, Vice-President of Programs & Partnerships for the International Development Research Centre in Ottawa. Dr. Charron holds a PhD in Epidemiology and a DVM from the University of Guelph.
