Passing of Dr. Daniel Ashlock

U of G Mourns Passing of Faculty Member

Tragically, Dr. Daniel Ashlock, professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, passed away on Tuesday April 5, 2022.

He will be greatly missed. Read the obituary for Prof. Ashlock.

Modelling Invasive Zebra Mussels

Engineering professors Drs. Graham Taylor, Medhat Moussa, PhD student Angus Galloway and their team developed an automatic way to accurately estimate Zebra mussel density in the Great Lakes using deep learning, which will help inform remediation strategies.

Safeguarding Privacy on Mobile Devices

A team of researchers, including Computer Science professor Dr. Xiaodong Lin, has developed a solution to protect mobile device users' privacy with "crowdsensing," where companies collect data from mobile device users.

U of G-Developed Vaccine for Diarrheal Microbe Set for Human Trials

A potential vaccine developed by U of G researchers, including chemistry professor Dr. Mario Monteiro, to combat a major cause of bacterial diarrheal illness is set to be tested on people. Human clinical trials will take place in 2022 at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
